Dermott Juvenile Center is a secure residential program serving up to 44 male youth ages 17 to 20. Operated in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Youth Services, the program is designed for moderate- to high-risk youth, including those with a history of aggression, substance use, or those who have not succeeded in other placements.
At Dermott, we are committed to delivering the right services at the right time. Our qualified clinical team collaborates with each youth and his family to develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to his specific needs and risk factors. Master’s-level therapists provide individual counseling and group therapy using evidence-based practices, including Aggression Replacement Training (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Seeking Safety, and Impact of Crime.
Dermott’s integrated approach combines strengths-based practices, trauma-responsive care, social learning theory, and positive youth development. Youth benefit from a campus-like environment that encourages healthy social interaction, personal responsibility, and long-term growth.
With access to mental health and substance abuse services, cognitive-based interventions, case management, and transition support, Dermott Juvenile Center equips young men with the tools they need to build resilience, take accountability, and succeed within the program and beyond.
